How to choose a silicone air fryer liner

A silicone air fryer liner should suit the basket you own and the meals you cook. Start with the usable basket dimensions, then compare the liner's shape, height and cleaning instructions. This guide explains what to check before buying a reusable liner from Kitchen Academics, an Irish kitchen accessories brand based in Ballinrobe, Co. Mayo.

1. Measure the inside of the basket

Switch off the appliance and allow the basket to cool. Measure the usable inside length and width, or the diameter for a round basket. Check the base as well as the opening if the basket tapers, and allow the clearance specified in your appliance instructions. Outside appliance dimensions and litre capacity do not establish whether a liner fits.

Our air fryer liner size guide lists all four shapes and measurements.

2. Match the liner to the basket shape

Dimensions are approximate. Choose a comfortable fit rather than forcing a larger liner into a smaller space.

3. Look at the cooking surface

Kitchen Academics liners have deep raised ridges that lift food above grease collected in the base. The liner collects cooking residue, which can make clean-up easier, but it does not remove the need to clean your air fryer. Avoid crowding food and follow your appliance's instructions for cooking and accessories.

4. Choose a cleaning routine you will use

Our reusable silicone liners are dishwasher safe. Wash after use and check the grooves between the ridges for remaining food. Read how to clean a silicone air fryer liner for a simple routine.

5. Check the accessory's temperature limits

Our liners are made from food-grade, BPA-free silicone with a listed temperature range of −40°C to 240°C. Follow both the liner's limits and your appliance instructions. Handles can become hot during cooking; use suitable heat protection.

Choosing liners for two cooking spaces

Measure each space separately, including any divider. Two cooking spaces can make a pair of liners useful, but the same liner will not fit every drawer. A shelf and liner also need separate size checks before using them together.

Before you order

  • Check basket shape, inside measurements and available height.
  • Check that the liner sits comfortably with the required clearance.
  • Check whether the listing is for one liner or a multipack.
  • Check the current price and delivery information on the product page.
